The Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance engages our local fishing community to build lasting solutions to protect our ecosystem and the future of our fishing businesses. Founded in 1991 by the local fishing fleet, we are now a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization and the leading voice for commercial fishermen on Cape Cod.
We believe that a healthy marine environment is essential to the success of Cape Cod's fishing economy, and we understand that better ways to manage our fisheries are needed to protect them. We know that fishermen possess the solutions to the challenges they face. Whether it's an improvement to fishing regulations, expanded research programs, or educational and economic development projects in our communities, our work is guided by the energy, innovation and expertise of local fishermen. Together, we're building a better future for fish and fishing.
Stop by the observation deck at the Chatham Fish Pier and get to know seasoned fishermen, hear about their experiences on the water, and learn what steps the Fishermen's Alliance is taking to help depleted fish populations recover. It's a great way to gain an understanding of the Cape's commercial fishing industry and the importance of protecting this traditional way of life. Fishermen pier hosts are available every Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day weekend in May through Columbus Day weekend in October, and on Fridays and Mondays during July and August. Free to all.
Meet the Fleet
Join us every month for our Meet the Fleet event that brings together fishermen and chefs and is guaranteed to deepen your appreciation of Cape Cod's fresh local seafood. Fishermen talk about what's in season and how it is harvested. Chefs offer cooking tips, tastes and recipes. Mark your calendars for the last Wednesday of each month, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at the Fishermen's Alliance headquarters, 1566 Main Street in Chatham. Members free; non-members: $10.
