Just in time of Halloween, author Bill Russo will share some chilling tales about hauntings right here on the Cape as part of the Sunday Lecture Series at the Atwood House & Museum on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m.
Russo, who lives in Harwich, is the author of “Ghosts of Cape Cod,” a collection of stories on some of the lesser known, but fascinating apparitions, such Ghost of the 13 Churches - Dr. Abner Hersey; Ahsoo, the Native American girl who sings with a voice of gold but has a face like a fallen log; and the 300 year old parson who sneaks into people's yards to snatch posies from their flower boats.
Russo says he is no strangers to spirits from other realms. His story of meeting a strange creature at midnight at the edge of the Hockomock Swamp drew the attention of Discovery Channel producers, who included the tale in a documentary, “Beyond the Bridgewater Triangle.
The museum is located at 347 Stage Harbor Rd. in Chatham. Admission is free for members; $5 per person.
