Name: Sea Capt. Ryder to tell of ‘Voyages from Chatham’ at the Atwood
    Date: March 18, 2018
    Event Description:

Capt. Bob Ryder will talk about “Voyages from Chatham,” his memoir about a life lived on the water, as a child, a teenager, a husband and father at the Sunday Lecture at the Atwood House & Museum, 2:00 p.m. on March 18. He will share it all: the successes, the failures, the bitter, the sweet, and the lessons learned along the way. From Chatham to Nova Scotia to the Panama Canal, to California and back again, Ryder encountered sharks, fire, sinkings and hypothermia. He will describe record catches, pet-able whales, moonlight miracles and a solar eclipse. Through it all, one constant prevailed: the camaraderie shared by men who give their lives, and their hearts, to the sea.
