2ND ANNUAL MILITARY APPRECIATION FAMILY FUN DAY - July 11, 2009 - 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Come see, touch and learn about one of the most exciting and powerful machines in America’s defense The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter. Also on hand will be the National Guard NASCAR, in addition to a variety of unique military vehicles. Meet the pilots and crew who navigate and fly the Black Hawk and learn about what they do, where they serve, and who they help.
Join us for an open house party with the Heritage House of Blues Band and Sid the Science Kid. You’ll also be able to try out some new family games from Wii and Nintendo DS.
Admission to this special event and the museum is free with your donation of non-expired, non-perishable items to benefit the Mashpee Food Pantry. This event is offered in cooperation with the following partners: Best Buy, Eastern Bank, National Guard and Rhode Island PBS.
There will be food for purchase provided by Frank’s Franks, and novelty treats by the Ice Cream Lady as well as a museum popcorn stand. All proceeds from the food sales will go to directly benefit the programs provided to the visitors of the Cape Cod Children’s Museum which is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.
The Black Hawk helicopter and other vehicles will be available for all to see, touch and learn about from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
The museum is located at 577 Great Neck Road South in Mashpee, 2 miles off the Mashpee Rotary. Due to the nature of this event, only handicapped parking will be available on museum property, all other parking will be at the Wampanoag Tribal Council.
