CONCORD, Mass. – The one-lane, each way traffic restriction on the Sagamore Bridge in Bourne, Mass., will be removed on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, according to officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

All 4 lanes of the Sagamore Bridge will be open and available for use starting on Thursday, May 6 (or sooner if work is completed early) until Monday, May 10, 2010 at 7 a.m.

Weather permitting, starting Monday May 10, 2010, one southbound lane (onto the Cape) will be closed on a daily basis to complete curb work. This work will only be accomplished Monday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. This curb work is anticipated to be completed by mid-May, which will bring the Sagamore Bridge work to completion.

Accessing the Cape Cod Canal website  (www.nae.usace.army.mil/recreati/ccc/news/bridgenotices.htm) will inform motorists of the bridge work.
