Corps of Engineers completes work on the Sagamore Bridge; all four lanes of traffic open on Thursday afternoon, May 13

CONCORD, Mass. – The last phase of the Sagamore Bridge work repairs in Bourne, Mass., was completed on Thursday, May 13, 2010 in the afternoon, according to officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District.

All four lanes of traffic are now fully open again for traffic coming onto and going off of Cape Cod, Mass. These work repairs of the Sagamore Bridge were essential to protecting the underlying steel/concrete grid deck in order to maintain the structural integrity and safety of the bridge, according to Corps of Engineers officials.
