Nick Feola, aka Yankee Repairman, joins the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s (LAF) fight against cancer by raising funds through the RAGBRAI a 470-mile bicycle ride across the state of Iowa during July 20th - 26th, 2008. The bicycle ride allows individuals to do something bold in the face of cancer by supporting the mission of the LAF to inspire and empower people affected by cancer.
A cancer survivor himself, Feola has pledged to raise three thousand dollars for the LAF by riding his bicycle across Iowa in honor of Wendy Costello, a dear friend who succumbed to this terrible disease one year ago on March 14th, his mother, and other friends and family who have been afflicted by this terrible disease.
Funds raised through RABRAI will enable the LAF to continue helping people across the nation with the physical, emotional and practical challenges of cancer. Since its inception in 1997, the LAF has awarded more than $29 million to cancer survivorship programs and research.
