Creative Arts Center in Chatham Awards Three $1,000 Scholarships

Known as the Excellence in High School Visual Art Award, this endowment, established in 2007, provides a $1000 scholarship to a graduating senior. These awards are given when there is a qualified candidate– a graduating Senior who is entering college in a visual or applied arts program and who has demonstrated a high degree of skill and excellence in his/her high school work.
This year’s recipients were awarded their scholarships at the Creative Arts Center Annual Meeting which was held Tuesday, June 10. They included: Alan (“Dock”) Howard from Harwich High School. Alan will be attending Montserrat College in Beverly, MA and major in Illustration; Joseph Mault, from Nauset Regional High School, has chosen the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he will pursue a Fine Art Degree; and Benjamin Hughes from Cape Cod Regional Technical High School will travel to Savannah, GA to study Design in Advertising at the Savannah College of Art.
