Cape Cod Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients

YARMOUTHPORT – The Cape Cod Foundation announced its annual scholarship recipients May 28 at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club on Pleasant Bay. More than 100 guests attended the event, where scholarship fundholders and representatives met the students and families who received scholarships. “The scholarship reception is a wonderful event, allowing the Foundation to honor the students for their hard work and to thank our donors,” said Kristin O’Malley, Foundation Program Officer. Representatives of local schools also attended.

This year, the Cape Cod Foundation has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to more than 70 local students. Scholarships have played an integral role in the growth of the Foundation, which began in 1989 with one scholarship fund and has grown to include more than 200 funds, including more than 50 scholarship funds, with assets of more than $36 million. Since 2001, the Foundation has partnered with the Cape Cod Association, one of the largest independent scholarship funds in New England; this year the Association provided $400,000 in scholarship awards to more than 250 Cape and Islands students.
