              Awkward Disasters & Inappropriate Opinions

A Night of Essays with Susan Blood and Ira Wood

to benefit community radio station WOMR

Provincetown, MA, April 11, 2018: Local humorists and radio hosts Ira Wood and Susan Blood will perform on April 26th at 7:30 at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod with an evening of essays to benefit WOMR, the community radio station announced today.

Titling their presentation “Awkward Disasters and Inappropriate Opinions,” Blood and Wood will bring their wry take on life to an evening that will invite the audience to laugh, cry, explore, and connect.

“Susan and Ira are both valued and talented members of the WOMR family, and having this opportunity to hear them share thoughts and societal critiques together is going to be great fun,” says John Braden, executive director of WOMR. “Listeners to the radio station are already familiar with their irreverent take on life, politics, and kitchen gadgets, and I can’t wait to hear what they have in store for this show!”

Wood, the host of The Lowdown and contributor to Outer Cape News has been compared to Dave Barry and David Sedaris, and shares five-minute Andy Rooney-esque essays on air; his thoughtful take on life and humanity, The Lowdown, airs Thursdays at 12:30. Blood’s work has appeared in numerous publications, including her own blog, Trout Towers. On WOMR she is Opera Betty, hosting an opera show for people who hate opera.

Tickets for the event are available for a suggested donation of $10 at Cultural-Center.org or 508.487.2619. The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is located at 307 Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
