Humor For Humanity with Jimmy Tingle – Fundraiser for Provincetown 400 to Bring the Pilgrims Back to Provincetown!

WHAT: Comedian Jimmy Tingle brings his “Humor for Humanity” to Provincetown on September 19, 2019 for a fundraiser for Provincetown 400 for the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower Pilgrims’ first landing in Provincetown in 1620.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the series of events in September 2020 including re-enactments of the signing of the Mayflower Compact, a tribute to the Wampanoag nation and their contributions to Provincetown, the visit of 1,500+ members of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants in September 2020 and a fireworks spectacular on November 11, 2020 at the annual Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument. The Provincetown 400 Task Force is a committee of the board of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM).
Tickets are $50 per person for general admission. For $100 per person you will have reserved VIP seating and be invited to a pre-show reception hosted by Edwige restaurant featuring delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails plus a “meet-and-greet” with Jimmy Tingle. About Jimmy Tingle
Jimmy Tingle is a comedian, commentator and the founder of Humor for Humanity. He was a 2018 candidate for Lt Governor of Massachusetts. He is a graduate of UMASS Dartmouth and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government where he earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA). He has worked as a humorist and commentator for 60 Minutes II and MSNBC and has appeared on The Tonight Show, CNN, Conan O’Brien, Fresh Air with Terry Gross and in his own HBO half-hour comedy special. His theatrical credits include several one-person shows: Uncommon Sense; Jimmy Tingle for President- The Funniest campaign in History and Jimmy Tingle’s American Dream and feature film work: Next Stop Wonderland; Boondock Saints; Head of State starring Chris Rock and Clear History starring Larry David. Tingle won Boston Magazine’s “Best of Boston” in the stand-up comedy category and for “best alternative theater” as the producer and artistic director of Jimmy Tingle’s OFF BROADWAY Theater in Somerville. He is the founder of the social enterprise and solo show entitled "Humor for Humanity" which aspires to raise spirits, funds and awareness for nonprofits, charities and social causes.

Provincetown 400 was established to guide the town’s commemoration activities in recognition of the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the Mayflower Pilgrims, the signing of the Mayflower Compact, and to also share the story about the native peoples living here long before the Pilgrims landed. The Provincetown 400 Task Force is a committee of the board of the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum and includes members of the community who have been meeting regularly since early 2018.
