Please join the Atwood Museum, home of the Chatham Historical Society, for a historic fundraising event! For the first time ever the Hoyt/Ecker family will graciously open to current Atwood Museum members, a tour of the historic Stage Harbor Lighthouse. Owned by this family since 1937, this famous iron lighthouse and wooden keeper’s house, built in 1880, is located on Harding’s Beach, at the entrance of Stage Harbor. Filled with legends and decorated in the traditional Cape Cod style, the unique property remains untouched by time, except for the ongoing maintenance carefully done by the family.
Please meet us in the Harding’s Beach second parking lot and join us for a half-mile flora and fauna guided tour on our way to the lighthouse. Once there, enjoy the views of sand dunes and ocean while taking in some refreshments. Afterwards, there will be a guided tour of the preserved Stage Harbor Lighthouse.
Please feel free to bring blankets, chairs, food, and drinks for your own enjoyment. Some refreshments will be provided.
This is a Chatham Historical Society/Atwood Museum member only event, if you are not a member, please consider becoming one and join us for this and many other fun events!
The rain date for this event will be October 6, 2019.
