Originally called Decoration Day, from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths, and flags, Memorial Day is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country.
The Town of Chatham Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018 in the Community Center and will begin at 10:00.
Participants will include members of the Chatham VFW and American Legion, the Chatham Coast Guard Color Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Brownies.
There will be singing of patriotic songs, Sarah Marchio will play bagpipe and Scott “Abraham Lincoln” Hamilton will read his Gettysburg Address.
Please join us this Memorial Day as we pause to honor those who died in service to our Nation.
