    About Us

Pleasant Bay Community Boating is a non-profit community organization whose mission is to provide boating, marine eduction, and environmental stewardship opportunities for all, regardless of financial, physical, and developmental abilities. We believe that all residents of and visitors to our seaside communities should be able to participate in marine-related activities on beautiful Pleasant Bay, the largest estuary on Cape Cod. Programs are available for all ages, including sailing instruction, STEM learning, as well as boat rentals. Now licensed by the Commonwealth as a certified day camp, PBCB is offering full day weekly boating and marine education sessions, especially with working parents in mind who seek rewarding and safe experiences for their children. To meet the affordability standard of our mission, nearly 30% of our programming is provided free of charge through financial aid and scholarships.

From an operation that started out of the back of a pick-up truck at Jack Knife Cove with a few donated boats in 2003 to a fleet of more than 70 water craft on an historic 3.7-acre campus, we have grown due to the generous participation of our community. Our fleet includes Flying Scots, Cat Boats, Optis, Sunfish, and Kayaks. In addition, noted presenters at our Friday Speakers Series address marine education topics of interest and concern. And, we have exciting news to share ... plans are approved for our ADA-compliant permanent dock, with construction expected to start in fall 2020.
