Speaker Series to Feature Author Anne LeClaire at Chatham Orpheum
Bestselling author Anne LeClaire will discuss “Painting Our Neighbors: On Canvas and On the Page” on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 9:30 a.m. at the Chatham Orpheum Theater. The reception, lecture and discussion is part of the September Speaker Series, a joint effort sponsored by the Atwood House & Museum, the Chatham Orpheum and the John F. Kennedy Museum. LeClaire’s latest work, a murder mystery entitled The Halo Effect, explores the idea the every person – good or bad – is the embodiment of a saint. She will discuss murals in the area, including the Alice Stallnecht murals of local people at the Atwood House & Museum, and writings that explore this idea. The September Speaker Series will continue on Sept. 27 with adiscussion about the Kennedy Family and Hyannis Port by Robin Smith-Johnson, author of Cape Cod Curiosities and Legends and Lore of Cape Cod. The lecture will take place at 9:30 a.m. at the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum. Admission is free, but a $10 donation to the Chatham Historical Society will be gratefully accepted.
