Chatham is composed of 4 VillagesDowntown Chatham, North Chatham, South Chatham, and West Chatham. Within each of these sections of town you can find some interesting and unique shops.

 

SOUTH CHATHAM SHOPS

Starting our travel along Route 28 heading into Downtown Chatham we enter South Chatham where we come upon an art gallery, a unique Christmas décor store. For more information about these shops, please visit our website here.

 

WEST CHATHAM SHOPS

Moving along and upon entering West Chatham find a great women’s shoe store and clothing boutique and just down the street there are two handmade pottery designers to check out. As you continue along Route 28, you will pass an Antique Map store with some remarkably interesting and historic maps.

If you are looking to purchase some seafood for dinner, you notice a seafood store on the right that stays open year-round selling very fresh fish and prepared foods to go.

Venture to the back parking lot to find a unique Art Gallery to browse and find a unique painting for your home.

APPROACHING DOWNTOWN CHATHAM

For your gardening needs and pet supplies, the garden supply shop on the right will provide you with seasonal florals, lawn and garden supplies, outdoor furniture, and pet supplies.

Just down the road is a gourmet cheese and wine shop. Be sure to stop by for some unusual cheeses and gourmet grocery items, and sandwiches for the beach.

Further on the left at Crowell Road you will find a bicycle shop where you can purchase a bicycle or rent one for your vacation. They provide a bicycle repair service as well.

The “local” drugstore chain provides the basic medicinal supplies, prescription services, vaccines, etc. along with other sundry household needs.

Next door is the local grocery store which not only carries the basic grocery supplies but also carries a great variety of gourmet food products for your entertaining needs, grab and go sandwiches, prepared hot foods, a variety of quiches, salads, cold cuts, breads, provides catering services, and also sells wine and beer.

As you venture up the hill and if you are in the market for a new or used car or truck, be sure to stop by the local automobile dealer on your right. They have a parts and service department.

On the left is an elevated women’s clothing boutique in a range of styles where you may find the perfect outfit for dinner out or an evening or special event.

DOWNTOWN CHATHAM SHOPS

As we enter Downtown Chatham, at the rotary bear slight right and we are leaving Route 28 and entering Main Street. Here you will find a local hardware store that carries everything you may need. Just next door is a shop specializing in luxury linens, bath, and sleepwear. Moving down the road we find so many unique boutiques selling clothing for women, men, and children and others carrying artisan designed goods.

A handful of shops have been here in Chatham for many years. One has been here for many generations. A few boutiques carry locally made items, while other shops are known for their iconic designs. One unique boutique can round out your whole outfit from shoes to casual as well as event-ready clothing. Another shop is known for its selection of special event clothing, casual wear as well as their quirky gift items.

You will be sure to find unique women’s clothing, sunglasses, beach wear, home décor and gift items, candy stores and bookstores. The jewelry stores carry expertly hand-crafted pieces, many of which are seaside themed. Art Galleries complete the artisan and home furnishing and gift boutiques.

The East End of Chatham houses a unique gourmet shop which carries artisanal vinegars and oils and gourmet pantry items while the next-door candle shop sells carefully crafted soy candles. An Art Gallery nearby carries photographs, paintings and carefully crafted Nantucket bracelets and beaded jewelry items. The bicycle shop is located around the corner from the gourmet shop in the back. Here you can rent a bicycle for your vacation.

Leaving Main Street Downtown Chatham and entering Shore Road on the left continue heading into North Chatham, be sure to stop at the Fish Pier to see the local catch come in. But be sure to stop at the fish market there for some very fresh fish varieties, chowder, lobster rolls, fish dinners to go. The fish market opens in May and closes for the season in October.

NORTH CHATHAM SHOPS

As we leave the Fish Pier and Shore Road ends at the traffic light, we are on Route 28 once again and entering North Chatham. As we enter North Chatham you will find a liquor store on the left carrying many varieties of find wines and liquors for your entertainment needs. The store also offers bar tending services rental for your special occasion.

Next door is a workspace rental, exercise facility and athletic clothing provider. Be sure to stop in to purchase some new active wear.

Across the street for the hunter and angler, you will find gear and clothing for your favorite sport as well as obtain a Massachusetts fishing license for both fresh and saltwater fishing.
